Sometimes as a photographer I need to do a fun, themed, totally no-pressure shoot to get my creative juices flowing. Because let's be honest, the social anxiety I get around clients is real! I'm such a perfectionist and it's so important to me that everything goes smoothly that sometimes it can be a little exhausting for my brain. So when I start to feel that way, I find a model and a studio and do a cozy Christmas shoot, complete with lights, a tree, and a really fantastic settee.
Rylee responded to an online model call I posted asking for someone to be a part of a cozy Christmas photoshoot. When I saw her I knew I needed her in front of my camera. First of all, she's just gorgeous, and she seemed like such a sweet person. Also, she is a HMUA (hair and makeup artist) if you couldn't tell by that perfect winged eyeliner! (One day I aspire to create such a perfect cat-eye).
Our shoot was at Studio 209, an adorable photography studio on St. George Boulevard. It comes complete with a bed, backdrops, props, and a beautiful green settee. It was absolutely perfect for what I wanted, and Rylee will attest to the fact that I spent most of the time crawling around on my knees for the perfect shot. It was SO worth it though because the shoot was EXACTLY what I wanted to be and the perfect thing to get my creative juiced flowing as a St. George Utah Portrait Photographer!
