I can't even believe Summer is coming to an end. It feels like it just started, but at the same time it feels like it's been painfully hot for freaking ever. But just because it's hot, that doesn't mean Summer isn't ranked high on my favorite seasons list - the days at the pool, the fireworks, the pop-up carnivals, corn-on-the-cob and watermelon and melting popsicles. Summer has it all, and that's why it's such an amazing time for creative photo sessions.
This year I was able to check a shoot off my photography bucket list: a fashion shoot at a carnival! There's something so alluring about the whole vibe with the lights and the hot asphalt and the smell of popcorn and cotton candy. Getting to navigate the whole thing with a camera and a model was definitely a different experience, but so worth it!
I first met Alex while taking pictures of a fellow photographer, a close friend of hers. When we met again and I found out she was a model, I almost died. I mean, seriously. Look at this beauty?! I immediately snagged her for a carnival photoshoot and I could not be happier that I did. She and I hit it off so quickly, which made this session a total blast. I may have spent the whole time on my back on the ground to get the perfect angles with all the carnival rides (including trying to avoid getting black grime on my white shirt) but it was SO worth it. Take a look at all the pics below and you'll see what I'm talking about. Alex was an angel to photograph as a Southern Utah Portrait Photographer.
